FAQs
How do I start creating pins?
You can create a pin for a city in two ways: automatically via the gallery sync feature (found in settings) ormanually from the “My Pins” screen. Each pin requires a location and a photo. Once you’ve created a pinwith your chosen photos, it will appear on your map, allowing you to add stories placed on that location.
What are stories and how do I upload them?
Stories are photo posts linked to cities where you have created a pin. Once your pin is set up, you’ll see agrid for each city. You can upload stories directly from this grid, either from your profile or the “My Pins” screen. Each story can include up to 10 photos, which will be displayed as a carousel. Feel free to uploadas many stories as you’d like for each city!
How does the gallery sync work?
By enabling the Gallery sync feature, the app will automatically scan the pictures from your phone's gallery. You can select which specific photos to include for each location. The duration of the sync process depends on the number of photos stored in your gallery.
What can I find on the Feed and Explore pages?
In the Feed, you'll see all the stories from the users you follow. The Explore page allows you to discoverthe most popular stories in a grid format and browse Mapin categories—destinations you can add to your bucket list. You can also use the Explore page to search for other users or find stories from specific cities.
How does Mapin badges work?
Once you've added pins to your map, either manually or through sync, our app will track the number of countries you've visited. Based on this, you'll earn badges that reflect your travel achievements. The morepins you add, the more you can progress on your badge, which will be displayed on your profile alongside your picture.
Is my data secure?
We prioritize your privacy and data security. All your photos and personal data are securely stored and not shared with third parties without your consent.
